Kickin' It - Framed
Kickin' It - Professional Print, Archival ink and paperstock Pen and Ink with heavy use of pointillism creating texture and shadows in the piece. The artist took photos of soccer balls and young people kicking them at the Greenwood Freedom Park. Some internet reference photos were used. Completed in January 2025.
Mending Treasures - Framed
The inspiration for this piece was an old quilt handed down through a couple of generations and used by all the babies in the family. The teddy bear was a treasure of the artists children and the oil lamp was also handed down from family. It is always a practice of the artist to mend the things that tear -- to at least try. The artist set up a still life setting of all the subjects and photographed the setting for painting.
Blue Heron
The heron is a favorite of mine. I have a friend who photographs them beautifully and kindly gives permission to me to use as subjects. This one is very stylized and yet feels very natural.
Marsh Heron
The regal heron shows up in our ponds, lakes and streams in Indiana. Taking flight with that amazing wing span, posing still or catching fish it's poetry in motion. One of my favorite subjects
Dream Space
In painting abstractly, I start with an underpainting which can have heavy texture, collage and mark making. In this one the feel is in the swirl of the texture resembling movement in space. It's a vibrant piece with layers of paint, collage and acrylic texture
Tide Pool
I visit a beach community once every year and am drawn to the tide pools where the water swirls and so many colors are mixed and muted. This one reminds me of the clear turquoise water and the seaweed floating and fluctuating in the shallows
Christmas Treasure
Original Watercolor painting on 300lb arches. Painting measures 8 3/4" wide x 11 1/2" long dry mounted on suede-like mat.
Tulips…here today, gone tomorrow
Here is an original oil on canvas panel, comes with white frame, picture size, 11x14
Drenched in Dew
Why buy a bouquet that wilts in a few days when you can buy a flower that will last forever! Fresh rose blossom drenched by an afternoon shower that leaves behind raindrops. This 7" x 10" original watercolor is matted to reach a 11" x 14" size that can fit in a standard-sized frame.
Hikes with Jen series - Heart rate Hill - Southwestway Park
This hill is on our regular path and is very steep and dangerous, which is why we call it Heart rate Hill. Not only is it our final push after a long hike, up a steep hill, but it is also very narrow and part of bike trails too. Terrifying! Before we started our climb, I spotted the fungi growing up the tree and thought it would be fun to capture in a painting. The original watercolor is not for sale at the moment (but for the right price? Make me an offer!) A wonderful second option is my high quality fine art print on specialty paper, which will fool the eye, as it is hard to tell the print from the original. The 11x14 print is full scale, but is also available in an 8x10 for $25.
