This painting was created to depict the progression of a growing grape vineyard. The artist took photographs of the dormant vineyard and skies in the early spring before any growth had begun. The memory of the vines when they are green and full of growth inspired the rest of the painting.

Description
Watercolor with pen and ink on 300lb Arches framed 17″w x 26.5″l with textured gray mat that accents the silver-toned wood frame. Aging well depicts the growth of a vineyard from a dormant vine with no green showing and no fruit yet over the gray cloudy skies. Then the vines begin to grow and green foilage appears over blue skies until finally, the vines are full of fruit. The lush green vines bear numerous clusters of grapes ready for harvest. The shadows in purple represent the rich sun that has nourished the vines to maturity.
