Swish – 14.25 x 17 framed in black metal, off center white mat with black core.
Pen and Ink with heavy use of pointillism creating texture and shadows in the piece.
The artist took photos of basketballs going through nets at the Greenwood Rec Ctr. Some internet reference photos were used. Completed in March 2024.
The mat and frame choices in this piece further accentuate the detail in the basketball and in the net. The mat being off center helps the observer see the movement of the basketball.
Awards: Blue ribbon from Greater Greenwood Arts Council, Blue ribbon from Johnson County Fair Indiana.

Description
Swish, the most anticipated sound in March. The sound that is made as the bright orange textured ball creates friction as it moves through the stark white nylon and polyester woven net. “Swish” is a sound that excites the crowd with the emotion of praise or disappointment.
Swish is the sound that causes the eruption of applause, yells, cheers and chants – the sound that is drowned out by the roar of the crowd.
